• Basic 9-1-1 to Enhanced 9-1-1
BBSI, with its broad expertise, has successfully brought numerous counties from basic 9-1-1 to enhanced 9-1-1 while making sure all of the bases were covered. BBSI works with the PSAP, telephone service providers, and your 9-1-1 provider for network and database to ensure a smooth transition to E9-1-1. The process includes:
- Development of the Master Street Address Guide
- Validation of telephone records from all telephone companies in the PSAP’s jurisdiction
- Telephone record simulation against the MSAG to ensure highest level of accuracy of telephone records.
- Project Management with 9-1-1 network/database provider and telephone service providers
- E9-1-1 cutover procedures
- Testing and turn-up procedures
- On-going support after the PSAP goes to E9-1-1
Wireless Phase I/II deployment
PSAP’s often require assistance to deploy Phase I and Phase II wireless. Like turning up E9-1-1, there are steps required to ensure a smooth transition to Phase II. BBSI provides support to deploy Phase I/II and understand all of the requirements for a successful deployment. Some of the steps BBSI perform are:
- Submitting the official request to the wireless providers
- Providing the necessary document to each of the wireless carriers concerning the request for Phase I and Phase II
- Review and edit call routing sheets from each wireless service provider
- Provide solutions for wireless routing for cell towers
- Oversee testing of turn-up of Phase I and Phase II
- Provide training to PSAP on both Phase I and Phase II calls
- On-going support of new cell sectors after Phase I/II is deployed
We always take the approach that it is great if a PSAP wants to tackle 9-1-1 projects on their own and don’t need outside assistance. But, if a PSAP either doesn’t have the time or understand to do this kind of work we enjoy the opportunity to assist and provide the best service and support you would expect.
