Powell County, MT deploys Emergency Notification The Powell County Sheriff’s Office has purchased and installed the BullBerry Notify - CityWatch Community Notification System to better inform their Citizens of potential danger and other alert situations that often arise in the County.
The system uses specialized computer software to quickly, accurately, and automatically send alert and non-alert notifications to telephones, cell phones, pagers, email, SMS devices, wireless devices and more. As an example, the Powell County Sheriffs Office could send a prerecorded warning message to all residents and businesses located in low lying areas of possible flooding or other significant weather events.
The system enables Powell County Officials to send notifications to pre-defined CALL-LISTS within the system, as well as geographically using BullBerry Systems, Inc. 9-1-1 Mapping software. The BullBerry mapping software allows Powell County to view detailed street maps of the County on the system. Using the mouse, they can define virtually any geographic area of the County they want to alert. The system then automatically uses the telephone record database and builds a targeted list of phone numbers to notify in that area.
This system will free Law Enforcement personnel to handle calls for service rather than spend hours making telephone contacts. Powell County can use the system for weather warnings, inmate escape, lost children alerts, personnel call-ups, fire evacuations, staff alerts, school notifications and more.
